It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 1st Lewis Chess Legends!
From August 6th to 14th, 2024, we are celebrating the heritage and history of the Lewis Chess Pieces with an international chess tournament in unique surroundings at the Archbishop's Palace in Trondheim.

We will facilitate good playing conditions and enjoyable experiences between games. We eagerly anticipate the gathering of players from diverse nations around the chessboards, and we are excited about providing players from Trøndelag the chance to compete in an international tournament on their home turf.
The main tournament is open and provides opportunities for IM and GM norms. Additionally, Nordic champions in both the women's and men's categories will be crowned. The Nordic Senior Championship (50+ and 65+) will be a separate playing group provided there are at least 20 participants. Additionally, there will be a separate group for players with a FIDE standard rating under 2200.
In 2024, we have space for a maximum of 300 participants, and those who register first are guaranteed a spot. Registration is considered confirmed once the participant's name appears on the participant list.
