Daniel Fischer

IM Daniel Fischer - Switzerland

What is your favorite chess book?
-
My favourite chess book is the Woodpecker Method from Hans Tikkanen and Axel Smith. I really like the concept of that book: internalising motifs and improving pattern recognition so that the exercises can from time to time be solved faster.

Do you have a role model in chess? If so, who?
-
I am a big fan of Fabiano Caruana.

What is your best chess experience so far?
-
My best chess experience was when I participated in a tournament in order to achieve my third IM norm. I actually succeeded in doing so.

What are your expectations for the tournament?
-
I hope that it will be a great event and that I can play some interesting games.

What do you enjoy most about chess?
-
The most fascinating aspect about chess for me is the fact that there are an infinite number of possibilities. Every game is so different which is also why it is possible for chess players to remember some games for their whole life.
