Senior Group in the Nordic Championship

We look forward to the execution of the senior group consisting of Nordic players aged 50+ and 65+. We have now reached a sufficient number of players for the event to proceed, so we confirm that this Senior category will be played as planned. However, we hope and believe that a few more seniors will join so that the round schedule and pairings can be optimal.

Bridging Generations through Chess: Lewis Chess Legends’ Commitment to Inclusivity

At Lewis Chess Legends (LCL), we believe that chess is a unique game that transcends barriers such as age, ethnicity, language, and gender. This timeless game serves as a bridge between generations, fostering a sense of unity and mutual respect. In an era dominated by digital interactions, creating physical spaces where people from different walks of life can come together is more important than ever.

Welcoming Senior Participants in Our Inaugural Year

As we launch our very first tournament in 2024, LCL is proud to include a dedicated senior class right from the start. We hold our senior participants in the same high regard as those competing in the open categories. Recognizing the immense value and wisdom that senior players bring to the game, we are committed to ensuring they receive exceptional service and support throughout the event. Our goal is to make every participant feel valued and appreciated.

Enhancing the Experience for All

We understand that many chess enthusiasts travel with family members or partners who may not share the same passion for the game. To make the journey to Trondheim enjoyable for everyone, LCL has curated a list of engaging non-chess activities. These activities are designed to offer a delightful experience for the entire family, ensuring that everyone finds something enjoyable to do during their stay.

Activities for the Whole Family

While chess matches are in full swing, non-playing family members can explore a variety of activities that Trondheim has to offer. From cultural excursions and scenic tours to interactive workshops and recreational outings, there's something for everyone. This approach not only enriches the experience for chess players but also makes the tournament a memorable event for their loved ones.

Your Feedback Matters

At LCL, we are dedicated to continuous improvement. As this is our inaugural year, we will be particularly grateful for feedback from our senior participants to help us develop and enhance the tournament for the future. Your insights and suggestions are invaluable in making each event better than the last.

Join Us in Trondheim

We invite you to join us at Lewis Chess Legends and be part of a community that values tradition, inclusivity, and the joy of chess. Whether you are a seasoned player, a senior enthusiast, or a supportive family member, LCL promises an enriching and enjoyableexperience for all. Let's celebrate the game of chess and its remarkable ability to bring people together.
